We are looking for a proven leader to manage the engineering teams responsible for developing and fabricating new and established products and systems. The candidate is familiar with and excited about working in a fast-paced environment and has a demonstrated track record of leading and coaching diverse, mixed-experience teams and working closely with other managers. The ideal candidate is highly productive, creative, and has excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage engineering teams and coordinate activities of engineering department to design, develop, document, improve, and test components, products, and systems
• Establish and maintain product and project documentation procedures
• Set up and oversee inventory management system
• Provide planning, direction, and coordination for all technical activities while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Administer personnel functions including recruiting and hiring exceptional engineers, and managing performance evaluations
• Plan and establish engineering schedules and follow up performance against estimates
• Manage vendor relationships and supplier contract negotiations
• Drive a culture of innovation and quality

Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in commercial product development, with a demonstrated track record of successfully leading the development of products from prototype through to release
• Excellent project management and people management skills
• Understanding what motivates an engineer, and how to get the most out of an engineering team
• 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 10-20 years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience

Software Engineer - Front End Programmer/UI Designer

HighRes Biosolutions is looking for a Front End Programmer/UI Designer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing both new and pre-existing software with an eye for top-notch, innovative usability and look & feel. Projects are developed at a rapid pace and to the highest standards. The qualified individual will be responsible for design, implementation, and testing of user interfaces using the newest technologies. This individual will participate in all aspects of the lifecycle of production software from design to release. Skill in advanced graphic design is a must. The candidate will consult with end-users to deliver the most efficient, usable, pleasing interface designs.

Other requirements for this position include:

• knowledgeable in current technologies such as ASP.net, AJAX, Flash, CSS, and .NET
• C# a must
• experience with graphic design applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (or comparable applications
• drag and drop graphics with snappable connections, e.g. Visio
• charting and graphing experience (from scratch or via libraries)
• significant experience with Windows Forms and Windows Presentation Framework a plus
• modern GUI design with focus on consistency, performance, responsiveness, clean presentation and fluidity
• experience with multithreaded UIs a must
• sample screenshots or actual executables of previous GUIs required

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to manage the overall operations, including manufacturing of large integrated systems, and research, development and manufacturing of small instruments and consumables.

• Manage vendor selections, purchasing procedures, and inventory tracking to control quality, supplies of parts, and costs for manufacturing and R&D groups
• Manage manufacturing group to optimize project resource allocation and timelines
• Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization
• Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in cooperation with the executive team

Software Engineering Positions

HighRes Biosolutions is a fast growing company based in Woburn, MA that develops novel products for the life science community. We design and fabricate world class engineering solutions for an impressive list of customers.

We have several software positions available for development of our core software package Cellario, as well as software development for novel products designed by our staff. Experience in the Windows environment, Visual C#, SQL Server, Visual Studio 2005, and Team Server are required. Interests in robotics, physics, chemistry, solid modeling, 3D graphics, machine control, scheduling algorithms, laboratory information management systems (LIMS) are very helpful.
