Software Engineer - Front End Programmer/UI Designer

HighRes Biosolutions is looking for a Front End Programmer/UI Designer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing both new and pre-existing software with an eye for top-notch, innovative usability and look & feel. Projects are developed at a rapid pace and to the highest standards. The qualified individual will be responsible for design, implementation, and testing of user interfaces using the newest technologies. This individual will participate in all aspects of the lifecycle of production software from design to release. Skill in advanced graphic design is a must. The candidate will consult with end-users to deliver the most efficient, usable, pleasing interface designs.

Other requirements for this position include:

knowledgeable in current technologies such as ASP.net, AJAX, Flash, CSS, and .NET
C# a must
experience with graphic design applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (or comparable applications
drag and drop graphics with snappable connections, e.g. Visio
charting and graphing experience (from scratch or via libraries)
significant experience with Windows Forms and Windows Presentation Framework a plus
modern GUI design with focus on consistency, performance, responsiveness, clean presentation and fluidity
experience with multithreaded UIs a must
sample screenshots or actual executables of previous GUIs required

Operations Director

HighRes Biosolutions is a fast growing company based in Woburn, MA that develops novel products for the life science community. We design and fabricate world class engineering solutions for an impressive list of customers.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to manage the overall operations, including manufacturing of large integrated systems, and research, development and manufacturing of small instruments and consumables.

The successful candidate will capably and enthusiastically:

1) Manage vendor selections, purchasing procedures, and inventory tracking to control quality, supplies of parts, and costs for manufacturing and R&D groups

2) Manage manufacturing group to optimize project resource allocation and timelines

3) Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements

4) Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization

5) Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in cooperation with the executive team

Requirements for this position include:

1) Minimum of BS/BA
2) 5+ years of operations business experience
3) 5+ years management experience
4) Strong management and communications skills
5) Strong strategic thinking abilities

Software Engineering Positions

We have several software positions available for development of our core software package Cellario, as well as software development for novel products designed by our staff. Experience in the Windows environment, Visual C#, SQL Server, Visual Studio 2005, and Team Server are required. Interests in robotics, physics, chemistry, solid modeling, 3D graphics, machine control, scheduling algorithms, laboratory information management systems (LIMS) are very helpful.

HighRes Biosolutions offers a competitive salary and benefits. Candidates should have a BSCS, BSEE, BSME, or BSChE with strength in OO design and 2-5 years of commercial software development experience. Some travel is required for requirements gathering, acceptance testing, and customer support.
